About the role
Join our dedicated team as a Travel Special Education Teacher in Flint, Michigan, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journeys of students with special needs. This position is available for the 2025-2026 school year, with an anticipated start date as soon as possible and lasting through June 12, 2026.
As a full-time educator (35 hours per week), you will provide exceptional special education services in an urban school setting, primarily catering to self-contained classrooms with a caseload of up to 22 students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing tailored Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs, including those with Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), and Learning Disabilities (LD).
- Effectively managing resource room instruction to support students needing specialized assistance.
- Collaborating with school staff and families to foster the academic and social development of students in urban settings.
- Maintaining compliance with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations.
- Conducting remote interviews and performing onsite teaching duties primarily within urban districts.
