Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in developing or managing operations programs within a nuclear or heavily regulated industrial environment. Strong knowledge of operational program frameworks, such as INPO/NEI guidelines, NRC regulatory expectations, or DOE equivalents. Experience with configuration management, procedure development, or licensing documentation is highly desirable.

Position Overview

As an Operations Engineer at Oklo, you will play a crucial role in the development of Concept of Operations (ConOps) and essential operational programs that dictate the operation of our advanced reactors. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, developing, coordinating, and executing operational programs to ensure they are thorough, compliant, and primed for both licensing and operational scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with system owners and designers to develop ConOps that define operational, monitoring, and maintenance protocols across all operational modes.
  • Ensure the timely creation of operational programs and procedures that facilitate safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Lead or assist in the implementation of operational programs, including conduct of operations, maintenance, and procedure development initiatives.
  • Work in tandem with engineering, systems integration, and safety teams to align operations strategies with design intent and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address gaps in the development of operations programs through structured planning and coordination.
  • Contribute to internal readiness reviews, inspections, and regulatory assessments.
  • Maintain and produce design documentation for ConOps and operations programs suitable for internal use and licensing submissions.
  • Engage with vendors, partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure operational expectations are communicated and integrated early in the design process.
