Join our dynamic Project Management team as a Project Controls Specialist in Dawson Creek, BC. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Project Manager, providing essential financial project controls and services throughout all project phases, including engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and completion.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in scheduling, cost management, project reporting, change management, stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, and document control. You will be expected to quickly acclimate to our established systems while also being proactive in developing new tools to meet evolving project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and refine project control systems, including cost tracking tools and reporting dashboards.
- Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking initiatives.
- Support the creation and upkeep of project schedules utilizing tools like Primavera P6.
- Prepare, organize, and disseminate regular project reports, including updates on cost, schedule, and overall progress.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of project data across all platforms and reports.
- Facilitate change management processes, including monitoring changes, variations, and approvals.
- Contribute to document control processes, ensuring proper version control and document organization.
- Monitor project performance metrics, identifying variances or risks for the project team.
- Engage in regular project meetings, providing administrative support and reporting assistance.
- Drive continuous improvement within project controls processes, tools, and reporting systems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project cost control, forecasting, and earned value management in construction projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency with various project control tools and systems, such as Excel, project financial systems, and scheduling software.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Pipeline Construction projects is highly desirable.
