Amazon RIVR, a robotics team spun out from ETH Zurich in 2024 and now part of Amazon, builds advanced wheeled-legged robots for last-mile delivery. The group focuses on creating autonomous systems that can navigate real-world city obstacles such as stairs, gates, and uneven surfaces. Since joining Amazon in March 2026, RIVR has accelerated its mission to deliver safe and reliable delivery robots.

Role overview

The QA Engineer will lead quality assurance efforts for Amazon RIVR’s robotic systems in Austin, Texas. This position covers the entire QA process, from designing and maintaining test frameworks to executing hands-on tests. The work involves both hardware and software validation, with a strong emphasis on automation and system reliability.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain test frameworks that cover robotic hardware and software.
  • Automate validation processes to improve testing efficiency and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Field Technicians and Test Support Engineers to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Convert feedback from Field Engineers into automated test suites.
  • Support efforts to meet high standards for robot safety and reliability.

  • Background in quality assurance for complex systems, ideally involving both hardware and software.
  • Proven skills in test automation and framework design.
  • Ability to work across teams and turn field data into actionable test cases.
