WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Join our exceptional team at a premier Horizon North camp facility, where you will work on a regular rotation of 20 days on and 10 days off, with workdays extending between 10 to 12 hours. Transportation to the site is conveniently provided from a designated pickup point in Edmonton.
The Second Cook plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of designated areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes.
This role is considered safety-sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fitness-to-work assessments as a condition of employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining consistent quality standards in food preparation as per client specifications, ensuring safety and sanitation in accordance with Food Safe protocols.
- Preparing food items for sandwiches including selecting and slicing breads, assembling and wrapping sandwiches, and portioning cold meats and cheeses by hand or machine.
- Conducting visual inspections of all cold food items for proper color combinations and overall presentation to ensure appeal.
- Checking and managing the proper storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers to preserve product freshness.
- Preparing and setting up a comprehensive salad bar for lunch and dinner.
- Effectively utilizing food stocks to minimize waste.
