Your Impact
As a mission-driven organization, Axon is poised to capitalize on numerous opportunities aimed at Protecting Life and Accelerating Justice for both our customers and the general public. We are actively collaborating with Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs) and other partners to scale our operations and expedite product delivery, ultimately aiding in life-saving initiatives. In this high-visibility, hybrid leadership and technical role, you will steer the technical direction for our firmware development partners, ensuring their success in scaling Axon's development efforts.
As a Senior Partner Engineer I, your influence will span both Axon and our partners. On the Axon side, you will ensure that the technical requirements communicated to partners are clear, rigorous, and address the needs of all stakeholders involved in Firmware (FW) success (e.g., hardware, application software). On the partner side, your role will be to guarantee that their FW deliverables integrate seamlessly into the broader Axon FW ecosystem, meeting our stringent quality and security standards. From a technical perspective, you will facilitate the successful completion of JDM programs by providing the necessary technical support to harmonize Axon and JDM workflows and subsystems. As products advance to production, you will collaborate with teams to ensure secure device provisioning and flashing methods, along with sufficient runtime logging and monitoring metrics to effectively diagnose in-field issues.
This role will focus primarily on the development of 1-2 new IoT products that align with Axon’s goal of protecting life. It amalgamates the responsibilities of a Firmware Engineer, Technical Project Manager, and Product Manager. Some may liken this position to a Field Application Engineer (FAE) or Forward Deployed Engineer, but with a primary focus on empowering our vendors to succeed in their contributions to Axon. This pivotal role is part of the Axon Platform Firmware Team and reports to the Partner Engineering Manager. You will connect the dots to ensure that Axon Platform Firmware mechanisms and expectations are effectively communicated through the JDM ecosystem.
