The Role...
As a Server at Soho House Austin, you will be instrumental in providing an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. Your responsibilities will include thoroughly understanding our menu offerings, informing guests about any potential allergens, and creating an inviting atmosphere by adhering to our esteemed Soho House Service Standards. Your role is pivotal in ensuring guest satisfaction and the overall success of our service operations. You will work collaboratively with fellow team members, manage pre-service and post-service tasks, accurately input orders into our POS system, and remain attentive to any additional requests from members or guests throughout their dining experience.
To excel in this position, you should maintain a positive demeanor, demonstrate attention to detail, and be flexible while managing high-pressure situations. Effective communication with both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) staff is key to your success.
Main Duties
- Build and sustain professional relationships with coworkers and management while completing all checklists associated with training in Club School.
- Enhance the dining experience by confidently recommending food and drink pairings and promoting daily specials to boost sales through friendly and effective communication.
- Keep management and the Executive Chef informed of any allergies or concerns that may arise during service to mitigate risks.
- Finalize all checkout reports at the end of each shift, ensuring they are verified and signed by management.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, as well as all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Ensure that food orders are plated and served correctly and timely to guests.
- Assist runners and bussers with expediting and service bar tickets to support all table orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the server alley and bar area, including polishing silverware, plates, and glassware as required.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the menu and make suggestions upon request from members or guests.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
