Join a prestigious investment bank as a Sybase Developer, where you will play a crucial role in the support, analysis, redesign, coding, and testing of relational databases tailored for FX financial applications. In this position, you will collaborate closely with various business units within the FX sector. You will also have the chance to engage in diverse projects and special initiatives focused on exploring new platforms and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Sybase ASE and possess foundational Sybase database administration skills on a Solaris/Linux platform. Proficiency in UNIX commands and scripting, along with knowledge of stored procedures and triggers, is essential. Strong debugging and investigative skills are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create logical data models that represent the trading of various financial instruments.
- Convert logical data models into a physical database design with a focus on performance.
- Collaborate with team members on coding stored procedures and triggers (in T-SQL), along with other programming tasks as outlined by the overall system architecture or specifications.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans.
- Provide secondary production database support.
- Partner with FX application managers to redesign the existing trading database.
