Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of experience in sales, specifically within the media (television and/or digital) or measurement/research sectors. Comprehensive knowledge of Nielsen's operations, products, and services. Understanding of the television and digital industries, including emerging trends and directions. Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to meet deadlines while responding promptly to clients. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and collaborating effectively with a diverse customer base and various internal teams. A strong motivation to drive sales and enhance client satisfaction. Excellent presentation and communication skills. An interest in analytics and big data, with the capability to analyze data sets for critical insights. A strong team player, adaptable to evolving sales roles and team dynamics.

About the role

Nielsen is eager to welcome a Director of Sales to our dynamic team, focusing on our most significant global media company partnerships. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the sales of our measurement services, fostering growth in both new and existing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your mission will be to exemplify Nielsen's value proposition, ensuring that our clients receive unparalleled support. You will take charge of client relationships, advocating for existing products while also identifying and pursuing new client opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with clients to support new business initiatives and consultative sales strategies.
  • Identify, prospect, and cultivate new client relationships, generating sales and product opportunities with potential clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Nielsen teams, support staff, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional products and services, enhancing client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the entire sales process from prospecting to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Effectively communicate and prioritize client needs, proactively resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Recognize opportunities and create proposals that address clients' core business challenges.
  • Craft compelling client presentations that transform data into insightful narratives.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products and solutions, utilizing data to enhance business performance.
  • Act as the liaison between Nielsen's internal teams and external clients.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Participate in client and industry-specific events.
  • Manage sales administration, including opportunity tracking and contract oversight.
  • Assist team members in managing various aspects of accounts within your designated vertical.
  • Engage in additional responsibilities as required.
